Fix your electronic devices
As of 2019 the world generates around 50 million tons of electronic waste per year, with the UK responsible for a staggering 6 million tons of it. Sadly only around 12 percent of this waste ever gets recycled, most is simply sent to be incinerated in landfills both at home and abroad.
From an environmental perspective this is a tragedy, as electronic components contain many toxic metals and chemicals such as mercury and lead which can penetrate the groundwater, not to mention the resources that went into first producing them.
